Exercise 5.1

I liked this exercise becasuse it made me see how much i was writing from just my sources and not enough of my own opinion. When you actually read your work you can see what you need to add or take out, but when your writing it you just keep going and dont realize what your writing and if it belongs or not.

Exercise 4.3

Beginning/Lead 1
There are many issues with people today concerning Capital punishment. There are two sides of Capital Punishment you are either for or against. My paper will be telling you the history of Capital Punishment, where it started and why it started. I will also be telling you why i am against Capital Punishment and why it is inhumane. It will look at what happened in the past and what is happening today.


Beginning/Lead 2
One of many concerns when it comes to the death penalty is if he or she is guilty or innocent. There have been cases where a man was on death row and he was innocent. Sometimes there is not enought witnesses or enough information so prove someones innocence. Thats another reason why alot of people are against the death penalty.


Beginning/Lead 3
Capital Punishment is completely inhumane. People are trying to play Gods part and we cannot do that. We do not have the power on who should live and who should die. That is murder, and we are committing our own crimes, where is the justice in that?

Time Management

Im pretty much done with my paper i started it when we first started talking about the paper in class. I try to start in advance because i do not like to be pressured and i like to have time just in case i run short on information i have time to look more up and add to my paper. I have a about a page to and im kind of stuck but i know i have the time to find other information and finish it. I started on it early because im not very good with papers so i want to take my time and make sure i did a good job and not rush it like i ususally do with everyother paper.

Audience

My audience is the college students to let them know about Capital Punishment and what it is and why we use it. To let them know why it is wrong and inhumane, it is not up to us on who lives and who dies. To let them know we cant play the role of God so why do we try.

Personal vs. more third person

My paper is mostly research on the topic giving the reader knowledge on what the topic is about. There is a portion in the paper that is the history on the topic, when and where it started. I do have my opinon in the paper its just not in one section. I cant really put personal stories in there because i dont know anyone who has recieved the death penalty.

In Class Self-assessment

1. Right now i have about 5 internet sources and 3 book sources which seems to be doing me a lot of good with my paper.

2. With all of my sources i have about 5 to 6 pages with my paper, my sources are pretty long and have a lot of information in them.

3. I could answer about any question that has to do with my paper, i have done a lot of reseach and i feel very prepared with what i know.

4. I would say that i am ready to write considering my paper is done, i am just revising it for any errors i have made and just adding a few more details. I have about a page to go so it is going pretty well.

Step 3
To many people the death penalty is a serious matter and alot of people do not agree with it. Many people say its not our place to say its Gods. I have no problem with the death penalty i think every state should have it. iF you have the guts to do the crime then you should have to deal with the consequences. I first wanted to write on how i approved the death penalty but the more i began to think the more i realized i wanted to write on how i do not approve the death penalty, think about it why not put yourself if the other point of view, i considered it as a challenge and i took it.

Im not saying that every crime comitted is worth being killed over, but crimes such as rape or murder, then they deserve to die, but since im writing about the other point of view its harder for me when the part comes for my on opinoin. I do believe that God is the one who decides who lives and who doesnt and it is very inhumane to kill someone that is not Gods wish.

Do you believe in Capital Punishment?

Me: No i dont i think it is completly inhumane and should be abolihsed from every state that has it. I believe it is up to God on who lives and who dies. We cannot play Gods part and with Capital Punishment thats what we are trying to do we are trying to play God.

Friend: I do believe in the Death Penalty i believe if you do the crime to do the time. Not every crime that is done should the persone be killed, i think there should be certain crimes that the death penalty pertains to such as rape for murder, i dont think stealing a car or bashing mailboxes is bad enough to die over.

If there is one thing i want people to learn is that we cannot Be God and no one ever will be so we need to stop trying and the man do his job.
